1965

Founder of AST Suspension Piet Kreeft started his career at KONI Suspension, specifically working for their motorsport department supporting professional racing in circuits around the world.

1969
Between cars and motorbikes, Piet spent upwards of 40 weekends a year supporting motorsport, for a tenure of almost 15 years.

On this picture you see Niki Lauda in conversation with Henk Richten and Piet Kreeft.
After almost 15 years at KONI Piet left and started Aragosta Suspension. Originally, most of Aragosta’s production was for motocross and GP racing bikes, two disciplines in which they became world leader.

Building upon this success, Aragosta expanded their product range to include most vehicles and were present at World Rally championships, Kartcross and Touring car events. Aragosta set records in the Paris-Dakar Rally, in both the T1 and T2 categories.

After 6 years at Aragosta, 1986, Piet moved on to WP. At WP Piet worked on motorcycle suspension and front forks, together with Benny Wilbers, for over 3 years.
1980
1989
Piet worked with INDY cars including world renown driver Emerson Fittipaldi. In 1989 Emmerson Fittipaldi became INDYCAR 500 World Champion, with the suspension engineering by Piet Kreeft. Piet was very active in INDY CAR chassis and suspension development for almost a decade. In 1993 he began the company HI TECH.
Once Piet left HI TECH he started AST with Peter Smits & Gerard Smits of Smits Factory. Together they combined the technical expertise and factory to manufacture every component to create new suspension systems, creating unparalleled quality control and manufacturing flexibility unlike many others in the suspension industry.

In a close cooperation with Piet Kreeft, Peter Smits, Marleen Theuws (since 2002), Dennis Kreeft, Ronnie Kreeft and Julian van Dijken. The company was successful in European motorsport. And since 2007 AST focused successfully on the US market. In 2010, AST was chosen as the new shock supplier to GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.
AST purchases Moton Suspension Technology including all technology and damper internal designs. MOTON Suspension Technology is a renowned damper brand, which started its activities in 1999.
